Thank you visiting our website.  We are Hiram Lodge # 88, of the Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines.

The official website of Hiram Lodge No. 88, under the jurisdiction of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines, started under the term of Worshipful Master Fernando C. Nicolas (MW, 2006-2007).

The Worshipful Master conceived the project as a means to enhance communication, information and education of brethren, especially those in distant places and different time zones. He envisions the use of the internet to transcend the bounds of distance and time that may limit a Masonic brother of the presence of his lodge and fellow brothers.

The project initially began with the help of Brother Dexter Que who worked with the Worshipful Master to register a domain name for the lodge. They registered the name www.hiramlodge88.org and hosted it on the internet. But still, it lacked the structure and content of a fully-functioning website.

The development of the project advanced in November, 2006 when the Worshipful Master worked with a petitioner for a backdrop of the year?s Ladies and Past Masters? Night. After some discussion on technicalities, the petitioner was tasked to assist in the development of the website using the layout of the event?s backdrop. On December 22, 2006, the project was officially proposed at a Special Meeting in Malate, Manila.

A prototype website and a logo of the lodge were presented and discussed among the brethren in attendance, including VW Brothers Ramon Nuñez and Julio Cabali, who expressed their support on the project. Among the features of the website presented are its functions to store photos and videos that can be viewed and downloaded by brethren; posting of up-to-date information such as announcements and newsletters which can be accessed in an instant; and its role as a virtual historical record of the lodge, its members and its rich Masonic heritage and legacies. Three petitioners were also interviewed during the event, including the one who made the design for the website under the guidance of the Worshipful Master.

On the Stated Meeting of December 2006, the project was officially presented at Hiram Lodge No. 88 and was well-received and supported by the brethren. The three petitioners interviewed during the Stated Meeting underwent and successfully passed the balloting the same night. After days of designing and after having gone multiple revisions, the official website of Hiram Lodge No. 88 was launched on February 2, 2007, the last Stated Meeting presided by MW Fernando C. Nicolas under his term.

The project serves as one of the legacies of MW Nicloas as Master of the Lodge and it will continue to serve the brethren of Hiram Lodge No. 88 and the entire Masonic community in the many years to come.
