SECRETARY’S  AUGUST 2009 MESSAGE

Hello Hiramites? You will notice that there is already a “ber” in the current month meaning that Christmas is fast approaching. It is also the time to review our past performance and check if you still have current resolutions undone to date. If you still have then do it now, as you still have one full quarter, enough time for you to reach the finish line.  Any shilly-shally on your part will be too late and surely will ruin your plans.

ON OUR LAST AUG 09 SM:  On our last SM, we have been visited by two PGM in the person of MW Rosendo C. Herrera and MW Bunyi both PGMs. Both of them were receive with ovation and given the proper honors due them. The previous month SM, HL-88 also has the honor by the presence of MW Danilo D. Angeles, PGM and incumbent Grand Secretary.  On both SMs, we have raising to the 3rd degree of our Candidates that were performed excellently to their satisfaction. We have now developed our 3rd degree team at the 2nd section very well, the performance of which is worth observing the visiting brethren greatly admires. Their actions were so refined to the letter based on ritualistic form and strictly following the GL’s edicts.

On that SM we raised to the 3rd degree Bro. Ermelito O. Delos Santos and Bro. Delfin G. Torres, Jr. Welcome to the Craft Brothers and prove to the world by your acts that upon becoming a MM, you become a better man. Hiramites also elected unanimously Mr. Michael Vincent Lim See and Mr. Rodolfo D. Panganiban, II to become Members of HL-88.

HL-88 was also visited by Members of Taga-Ilog Lodge No. 79 headed by their SW Bro. Benedicto P. Villar and JW Bro. Andrew D. Raña.  They were recognized by the WM. With them of course is one of our Honorary Member, WB Roy S. Tan, PM. ONLY maybe due to their previous engagement, they were not able to finished the SM nor attended our fellowships. But yes, WB Luis Uytanlet, PM came to our fellowships who left after having a few drinks and did not eat dinner because it was already time to pick up his daughter from a school party.

HL-88 FELLOWSHIPS:  There were four tables of all Hiramites and 3 Petitioners at the refreshment. The Secretary always have a short program during the refreshment recognizing the visitors and those who are celebrating their birth months, the newly raised, introduced the Petitioners, welcome some long brethren absentees if they come, and had the DDGM gave a short remarks for the evening. Everybody enjoyed the food and drinks, and of course the excellent fellowships that no one was ever turned off but always everyone look forward to come again next month’ SM.  Let us continue this camaraderie of brotherhood forever brethren.

OLD LOST HIRAMITES WANT TO BE RE-INSTATED:  WB Jose P. Gunzon, PM in 1975 and Bro. Robert Sua who joined HL-88 in 1969 wrote us letters who both wishes their Memberships to be reinstated.  Their letter of intention were both read on our last Aug. 7th SM and they will be balloted for acceptance on our September 4, 2009 SM. From our history and of other Lodges, there are no MM Members who aplied to be reinstated ever rejected, if they were just suspended for NPD. We welcome them having come home and this time may they ever stay with us permanently. So, Bro. Hiramites come and join us in balloting for their acceptance to the fold of our Lodge.

HL-88 MASONIC WAY OF EDUCATION: This Masonic Education program for the EAM, FCM, and Newly raised MM will be continued by the Committee headed by Bro. Plutarco B. Bawagan, Jr. The next schedule will be on September 2009. Please wait for the announcement of the next schedule. Also the committee of Bro. Ric Lumbre, Jr. on the Widows and Orphans is moving and active. Please continue your good work.

GENCOM RECOMMENDATION FOR ALL NEWLY RAISED MM: Gencom recommended that all MM raised in the past 3 years and even beyond must take a 3rd degree proficiency examination, and the newly raised MM within 90 days after they were raised to become eligible to be appointed as Lodge’s officers. To those concerned, if you have any problem, please consult the Secretary.

HL-88 DIRECTORY:   This Gencom recommendation will be fulfilled with no time frame but only will be printed when the listing is completed. Every SM, we will place a paper with the Tyler’s book and so please kindly put your details: Name, profession, telephone number – landline and cp no., and your email addresses. We will not print the Home Addresses for security reason. You can get this from the brother by calling him or text him for his confirmation, this way every brother Hiramite is secured and will personally know who wants his home address is a real brother.

FROM THE DISTRICT NCR-D DDGM WORDS:  That he had some NCR-D Lodges to visit our HL-88 to observe “as a show window of a good Masonic Decorum and the way we hold our SM”. This “Decorum” he said is worthy of being emulated by other Lodges not only in our District but also with other Districts.  This is a big honor to our Lodge and therefore, we will continue maintaining it, preserving it, and even improve it as time goes on. Really, good things spread-out silently although we do not advertise it. Thank you VW Sir.

LODGE’S WORKING:  I am not pre-emptying the Gencom decision but due to news that the scheduled coming home of Bro. Richard Paul B. Nahe, a FCM who is working in Dubai is cancelled, therefore the next scheduled 3rd degree conferral will also be cancelled, and most probably our working will be a 1st degree initiation to the newly elected Petitioner on our next Sept. 4th SM.  Confirmation of this plan will be decimated through text messages.

THE HL-88 CUSTODIAN OF THE WORKS:  I can’t help but praised the good work of the Chairman of the Custodian of the work, Bro. Rino D. Romero controlling the Petitioners in providing the lodge’s props before and immediately after every SM  keeping the same to the repository of our Lodge. This is the service that was not done before. To Bro. Rino who still intermittently act as a Tyler during SMs, your labor is seen and captured by the HL-88 Officers and it will be properly rewarded in due time.  Thank you!!!

HL-88 NEXT SM:  The next SM of HL-88 will be on Sept. 4, 2009. Lodge open at 5PM. The Officers, Members, and Visiting Brethren must be seated in the Lodge properly cloth before this time. Please be guided and govern yourself accordingly.
