Nahe, SECRETARY’S AUGUST 2009 MESSAGE We are now in the last quarter of the year and everyone’s schedule is becoming tighter due to the approaching Christmas Days. Almost all sort of parties are being made on this ending of the year. Hiram Lodge is no different. We will have our Past Master and Ladies Night on October 3rd, Golf Tournament on November 14th, and our Lodge’s Christmas Party December 13th. This is only for our Lodge. Our other Masonic Lodge affiliation has also schedules of Christmas Programs and if we will include our families’ parties; this will make our year ending real busy. PMs & LADIES’ NIGHT: On Oct. 3, 2009 is HL-88 PMs & Ladies Night. This event is now being done every other year, but if we will follow the “once every five years PM’s Night”, this year is the fifth. So let us make this a real big night and a super-date with our Better-Half. This is free to all Hiramites and their Ladies. Venue: Makati Sports Club. Attire: Black or Dark Coat and Tie for Hiramites and Lady Party Dress for Ladies. Start at 6PM and Dinner by 8PM; let us make it American Time; or HL-88 Masonic Time. OK? GOLF TOURNAMENT: Date: Nov. 14, 2009, Venue: Intramuros Golf Course, Tee Off time: 8AM. Let us support this project by selling your own tickets and get those Sponsors and Patrons. Officers must assist the Committee in whatever assignment the Chairman may assign to you. This Tournament is also dedicated In Honor of the MW Reynato S. Puno, PGM and Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines. Come and Join us, Hiramite! CHRISTMAS PARTY: The HL-88 Yearly Christmas Party was planned and of course will be celebrated on Dec. 13, 2009. Venue is at the Scottish Rite Temple, our yearly Venue. This is a family affair awaited by our Children and we hope you will not miss it. Mark it on your Calendar now. No excuses for absentees. Our family get together in the Yuletide Season is already now a HL-88 Family Tradition. The Hiramites Ladies who were In-Charge of Programs the past many years should prepare and do the same as your yearly assignment. Please assist the WM. He has no Lady to call you Lady Hiramites. So, HL-88 depend to the Hiramites Ladies’ Group incentive work. Thanks. ON OUR LAST SEPT. 4TH SM: On our last SM, we have initiated into Freemasonry now Bro. Michael Vincent Lim See and Bro. Rodolfo D. Panganiban, II. The later is the son of our PM, WB Rudy Panganiban. Before that SM, we had a Special Meeting last Aug. 22nd and raised to the sublime degree of MM Bro. Michael B. Masangkay and Bro. Victor N. Tribiana. To the first two, welcome into the Craft. Now that you are in, into the most prestigious organization of the world, you must observed, study, reflect, digest, & copy the worthwhile prestige of the craft; and learn its lessons as you ascend to the degrees of Masonry. To the last two, you are now a MM, the eyes of the fraternity are with you. Prove to the world by your acts that upon becoming a MM, you become better men. HL-88 FELLOWSHIPS: Because of the heavy rain and afraid of the flooded frontage of the Golden Fortune Restaurant, we changed venue to the Uno Restaurant in Escolta. The brethren enjoyed the food served at this new venue. If the brethren so desire, we can go back there in some future meetings. It is always good for anything to have an alternate. It always made sure of a sure performance and satisfaction of the group’s concerned. HIRAMITES REINSTATED: WB Jose P. Gunzon, Worshipful Master in 1975 and Bro. Robert Sua who joined in 1979 were unanimously accepted by the brethren on their request to be reinstated. Welcome Worshipful Sir and Brother, this time we hope you will stay around with us and never again you will left your mother Lodge for so long. The brethren are really happy you are with us again. GENCOM RECOMMENDATION FOR ALL NEWLY RAISED MM: Gencom recommended that all MM raised in the past 3 years and even beyond must take a 3rd degree proficiency examination, and the newly raised MM within 90 days after raising to become eligible to be appointed Lodge’s officers. To those concerned, if you have any problem, please consult the Secretary. LODGE’S OCT. 2ND WORKING: We will have a Passing Conferral on Bros.: Charleson Tiu and Royce Randell I. Reyes. For those assigned brothers and Members of the Team, please check your name in the Working Portion of this NL. Everyone must deliver their parts thru memory. You can do it Hiram! For the other Members sitting as Audience, you can move in the NE corner of the Lodge closed to the Lecturer to listen to the lecture. The WM will permit you to open your monitor and follow the lecturer’s delivery so you can decode your monitor in all degrees. Members are not permitted to leave the lodge during lectures. Perfect silence is requested and we request you to start learning your monitor and watch the floor works. This is the only way to learn so when time comes you will be assigned, you already know to decode and do your parts. LODGE DIRECTORY: Starting next meeting a sheet of paper will be placed in the Tyler’s Book for you to write your data that will be printed in the Directory. Your name, Profession, Land line Tel. no.; Cell-Phone No. and Email Address. These are the only items you must give, do not write your Home Address for security reason in case the directory falls on the wrong hands. The home address will be asked by phone by the brother who need it. THE HL AIRSOFT COMPETITION: This is a modern game being practiced by many friendly groups that bring excitement and closed camaraderie. HL-88 brethren practiced this game last Sept. 5th in Pililla, Rizal at the SW’s place. Eighteen Hiramites joined and had a whole day fun. Next time, others can join and learn to shot a new live target different from what you were used of doing. This is fun not satisfaction. Join next time around! MASONIC EDUCATION FOR NEWLY RAISED MMs: Bro. Plutarco B. Bawagan, Jr. on order of the WM will give Masonic Education for the newly raised MMs on Sept. 18th at 5:30 at the Masonic Center – GLP at 5:30PM. We therefore request all newly raised MMs to come and listen to this important subject for newly raised MMs. Thanks. NEXT DISTRICT NCR-D MEETING: Next Dist. Meeting will be Sept. 26th at 2PM. HL-88 will serve the Snacks. The 3 Lights and other appointed Officers are required to attend. Thanks. HL-88 NEXT SM: The next SM of HL-88 will be on Oct. 2, 2009. Lodge open at 5PM.
